Sandwiched between Mexico, Belize, Honduras, and El Salvador, Guatemala is one of the most well-known Countries in Central America. Famous for the Mayan culture and history, Guatemala is a desired travel destination for many individuals across the world. What many would find surprising though is the extreme poverty that exists in Guatemala. Out of the 13 million estimated people that live in Guatemala, 51% of them live below the poverty line and a heartbreaking 16% live in extreme poverty. Guatemala, like the majority of other countries in Central and South America is need of your help. Besides physical and nutritional healing, Guatemala is in need of Spiritual healing. One of the extraordinary things that separates Guatemala from other countries is its youth. Over 40% of the population is under the age of 15. Because of this fact, this makes Guatemala one of our targeted countries to travel with boards and the Truth. Located about 2 hours outside of Guatemala City, is one of our partner ministries, SOZO Skate. In June of 2011 we partnered with Christian Skaters to help build a skatepark for SOZO Skate ministries and were able to bring them 75 skateboards that allowed them to host regular skateboarding ministries, Bible studies, and outreaches to build relationships with the youth with the purpose of sharing Jesus Christ. We would like to invite you to travel to Guatemala with the Ride Nature organization as we travel to bring hope, life, and board sports to children that are living in poverty. We will be working alongside the Virag family to assist in construction projects, community outreach, skateboard clinics, skate/surf contests, beach outreach and evangelism, video showings, and many other activities.

*Estimated round trip airfare leaving from Ft. Lauderdale, FL can range anywhere from $100-$400 depending on the time of the year.
